Hey👋 Happy to see you here! Before we deep dive into the case study, here’s a little information on the project:
This is a real project done for a client but the name and logo hasn’t been revealed due to client’s request.
The timeline for this project was 5 weeks.

TripZen is an intuitive, simple-to-use group travel app created to help take the stress out of planning group trips. Create custom trip ideas, vote and comment on destinations, and securely store memories afterwards. Stay organized and save time:
TripZen keeps the whole group on the same page, from idea sharing to destination voting to trip activities.
Who are our target audience?
Our target audience are people who like to travel in groups but don’t like the hassle of planning it.
TripZen will help them plan their trips with ease without getting in several WhatsApp groups just to decide on where they would stay!
What are the user problems we have observed & how are we solving for them?
Pain Point 1: Users need a place where they can plan with their friends without making dozens of WhatsApp group.
With TripZen, the group can vote on accommodations, destinations, activities, availability etc.
Pain Point 2: Users find it difficult to ask every group member to share images & videos taken during the trip and also the spending every group member did.
Through TripZen, users can create collections of their memories made during trips at one place and share with their group.
I started with laying out the information architecture according to the client needs and user pain points. I understood that the app has one prime feature i.e to make planning group trips easier, and the client wished to achieve it through 2 main actions:
I made the achitecture crisp that lays down all important information to achieve the user’s goal.
Architecture for User Onboarding/Log In - Sign Up
Architecture to enable efficient information flow throughout the whole app
Navigation withing the app should be minimal and frictionless without any information gap. Even with so many features the main actions can be performed by the user in few taps.
Useflow for User Onboarding/Log In - Sign Up
Userflow to enable frictionless navigation throughout the whole app

This was my first project where I did all the work single handedly, and so I came across many challenges as well as gained a lot of insights and learnings.
The biggest challenge for me was to convince the client to go through the process of user research, creation of IA and userflow. They thought this was a waste of time and directly wanted to go through the screens. I made them understand how important it is to go through these process to create a user centric product.
Another challenge for me was the timeline, which was only 4 weeks and 1 week for revisions if there were any. Initially, it made me nervous but as we moved forward and as I got a better understanding of users and the product itself I was able to deliver on time which took me 4.5 weeks.
Major gain from this project is that I have now more belief and confidence on my own hard and soft skills such as time and stress management, handling clients and product design.
I went through the whole process of designing a product single handedly which was a bit challenging (in a good way!). Moreover, I learned that there will always be room be improvement.
